ABT students ages three to seven are introduced to music and movement in our Primary Levels. The emphasis in these courses is on rhythm, dynamics, and placement, so that students graduate from Primary with an understanding of spatial awareness, correct alignment, teamwork, and focus.
Each level is divided by age in order to accommodate the developmental needs of every student.

Audition required for placement.
Serious ballet students ages eight+ may audition for levels 1A and up to pursue pre-professional training. Infinity Dance Center faculty follow a specific graded curriculum designed to strengthen technique, stamina, and discipline though practical training and lessons in theory. Girls and boys may be separated in pre-pointe, pointe and boy’s class to address the specific techniques and physical strength of each individual dancer.
A pre-professional ballet training program for students, ages 12-18. Under the direction of Artistic Director Rachel Wrobel-Leath, students thrive in an elite atmosphere dedicated to the success of each student.
Admission is by audition only.
At the Infinity Dance Center ABT Academy, our students are trained with ABT’s National Training Curriculum. This curriculum combines principles and elements of classical French, Italian, and Russian schools of ballet.
The goal of this Curriculum is to train the students to use their bodies correctly by educating them on not only alignment and coordination but also artistry, vocabulary, and some anatomy.
Since each level follows carefully planned Curriculum throughout the year, students are expected to attend all their assigned classes.
There is a strict dress code for each level of the American Ballet Theatre dance classes. The physical transition of changing into dance clothes assists students in making the mental transition to focusing on the body that is essential to a successful learning environment. In order to accurately instruct students in executing proper technique legs, knees, feet, and torso must be visible. No baggy clothing/warm-ups are allowed during class. Baggy clothing doesn't allow for the teacher to see dancers alignment and can cause injury if said clothing item gets in the way. Female dancers may wear tight fitting ballet wraps that match the color of their leotards. Male dancers may wear tight fitting 3/4 zip warm-ups in either a solo black or white color. Correct color leotards may be purchased at Infinity Dance Center.
Students who are not in dress code, including having hair properly done for class, may be asked to either fix their attire or sit out and observe class for the day. Girl's hair must be secured in a bun for ballet class, making sure it will not fall out while turning/jumping. The bun will keep hair out of eyes, off the neck and allow for proper spotting.
Small flowers, bows, and/or clips are acceptable.
Students do not automatically progress from one level to the next each academic year; remaining in one level for more than one year is common. Most levels take two years to complete! Placement and promotion decisions are based on the student’s age, stage of emotional and physical development, technical ability, potential, behavior in class as well as outside of class, faculty recommendation, and the director’s discretion.
Please keep in mind that the age range is given as a guideline. Students will be placed by Infinity Dance Centers artistic faculty in the appropriate level based on the guidelines mentioned above.
ABT levels are subdivided into Pre-Primary, Primary, and Levels 1A+.
3 Year Old ABT Pre-Primary (Students must turn 3 years old by September 1)
4-5 Year Old ABT Primary (Students must turn 4 years old by September 1)

Level 3 (Pre pointe is recommended as an addition. A student doent's automatically get to move into pointe shoes after completing 1 year of pre-pointe. Foot strength and ballet training play a big role in determining a students readiness to go on pointe. If a student takes a year off, or only takes one ballet class a week, they will take longer before they are allowed to go on pointe.)
Level 4 (Any student under 11 at the
start of season will not be allowed to use pointe shoes until the following season. Just because a student is over 11 doesn't automatically allow them to use point shoes either. Miss Rachel must approve all students before they are allowed to go up on pointe.)
